FIONA ~5 years old. Good with dogs and cats. Kids TBD.
GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only.
Fiona is a high-spirited, energetic, affectionate girl of about 5 years old who would love to be your loyal companion. She craves attention from people and is an amiable companion to her foster brother and sister. She also lives harmoniously alongside her foster kitty sister. She is smart, eager to learn, and motivated by both praise and treats. It’s hard to believe that this beautiful soul was found as a stray. It is evident that in her former life, someone took the time to train her. She is excellent in her crate, but she also can be trusted to roam freely when her humans are sleeping or when they are away. She is house trained, knows several commands, walks beautifully on a leash, responds favorably to correction, and has strong recall. She patiently waits for her meals and politely and gently takes treats. Fiona adores the outdoors — whether on a neighborhood walk or tracking the steps of squirrels and deer in the front yard. A fence would be wonderful in her new home, as her nose could lead her down the wrong path if not contained.
Even though Fiona enjoys the company of the canine residents in her foster home, she also could confidently live as an only dog. She enjoys independent play and doesn’t depend on another dog to play with her.
At some point in her past, she has delivered at least one litter of puppies, but motherhood will soon be in her rearview mirror. She is scheduled to be spayed, and after some rest and recovery time, will be available after Dec. 1.
