Here's what the humans have to say about me:
November is Adopt A Senior Month! We decided to be proactive and take in a bunch of new little seniors this week.
First up, meet Old Baby.
This tiny oxymoron is a 13 year old maltipoo, under 10 lbs. He was once the baby of the household, but life happened and he was gradually pushed to the side. Figuratively in that they had no time to spend with him. Literally by a bigger younger playful dog that was stepping on him and a young child that was allowed to corner and roughhouse with him. He’s a sweet boy so he didn’t protest in any way that was noticed and would just shudder and try to avoid it all. He’s going to our vet for a work up this week- his teeth are rotting and probably all need to be pulled and he totters around slowly from arthritis, but otherwise he seems stable and like he could still have a few more good years in him being someone’s baby again. He’s fine with other small gentle dogs that won’t stampede him, and likes being out and about around people, a social little guy.
Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Old Baby in Northern NJ
Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
