My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Magnolia - Available for adoption
~1 year old female
In foster care since: September 23, 2024
Fostered in: London, Ontario
Adoption fee: 700

Meet Magnolia! This beautiful sleddie (yes - that’s right - she’s a sleddie! A eurohound, to be exact) came into care in September 2024 after many months of waiting. After much tender love and dedication from her foster family, this young girl is ready and eager to start her new life with her forever family!
Magnolia is equal parts shyness, intelligence and tornado. This shy girl has recently discovered that the only thing stronger than her fear of new things is her fear of missing out.
Magnolia’s foster mom jokes that she often resembles a deer more than a dog! Her ears perk up like a fawn in the forest, turning in unison toward the sound of a... treat bag opening. She has the graceful gait of a deer when she runs (she's so fast!), and when she’s happy, she has the most adorable little trot (very demure, very cutesy)! Magnolia's most adorable deer-like quality is her doe eyes. One look from this brown eyed girl could melt even the coldest heart.
When she's not behaving like a deer, you’ll find Magnolia is out here living her best puppy-life. After not getting a chance to experience all the fun of puppyhood in her previous life, she’s taking her chance to do it now! Magnolia is full of energy, curiosity, and fun.
Did somebody say ZOOMIES? Give Magnolia a big fenced yard and some good friends and she’ll show you what real zoomies are all about.
Magnolia's start to life has not stopped her from learning how to be a real house pet and love bug. She's been shadowing her doggy-foster sibling and is a quick study. Another dog in her forever home would help her fast track her studies, but that’s no deal breaker. A people only home who displays lots of love and patience will earn her trust, her loyalty and all her love.
Magnolia has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on relevant vaccinations. She is good with dogs, cats, and has been exposed to kids and does well with kids of all ages though she tends to steer clear of busy toddlers and hangout elsewhere.
If you think Magnolia would be a good fit in your home, please apply to adopt

More about this rescue

Baladi & Sled Dog Rescue of Ontario is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, providing veterinary care, and finding loving homes for dogs from the dog sledding industry. We also extend our reach locally by rescuing stray dogs and cats from Indigenous communities that we partner with.

Our rescue began saving street dogs and cats, AKA Baladis, in Egypt. Since the important on animals ban implemented in 2022, we are no longer allowed to bring animals into Canada from Egypt. Our efforts, however, expand globally, as we continue to help support the placement of Baladi's in Egyptian shelters.
