Meet Wednesday, a young dog with a heart full of love. Her sweetness is as infectious as her energy, bouncing around with a joy that's hard to ignore. She's smart too, quickly mastering tricks and manners, showing off her keen intelligence. But don't be fooled, Wednesday is also a little shy. She takes her time to get to know new faces, but once she trusts you, her affection is unwavering. She's a unique blend of enthusiasm and reserve, a delightful combination that will keep you on your toes. Adopting Wednesday means gaining a loyal friend who will bring both fun and tranquility to your life. She's a wonderful companion, waiting to share her love and energy with a family that will cherish her. Wednesday graduated from The SPCA's highly regarded Ruff Start Program which pairs shelter dogs in need of extra care or attention with inmates at Salinas Valley State Prison for training and love. She also enjoyed playing with her other dog friends at Ruff Start. She loves chasing balls and playing with toys. Wednesday is available by appointment. Please call (831) 264-5422 to learn more about her!

Four simple steps to adopt a pet
1. Visit the SPCA at 1002 Monterey-Salinas Highway across from WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Visit with the pet you are interested in adopting to see if his personality fits your lifestyle.
2. If you are adopting a new dog and already have one at home, you will need to introduce them at the SPCA to ensure a good match. When adopting, please bring your current dog with you. Our animal care staff will assist you with introducing your current dog to the dog you are hoping to adopt. We also prefer when possible that all family members living in the home meet any new pet before adopting.
3. The SPCA adoption process takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. All paperwork, vaccination records, and microchip information will be provided at this time.
4. Take your new lifelong family member home!
We understand that sometimes potential adopters are at work or school, coming from long distances, or need time to gather pets and family together to meet their potential new adoptee. Because of this, the SPCA offers a 24 hour hold on adoptable pets.
Holds cost $30 for a 24 hour period.
