A little bit about Loki Dokie: - unknown history with children, interactions must be supervised - unknown history with cats and small animals - potential for select dog in home pending successful dog to dog
Have you ever met an Irish Wolfhound x Newfoundland x Coonhound cross? No? Well, now's your chance! Introducing the one and only Loki Dokie. With such an impressive pedigree, Loki is not meant for the shelter life. She is destined for soft beds, gourmet treats and a whole lot of pampering! Unfortunately, Loki has had a rough go of it lately. After being abandoned by her previous owner, she made her way to the shelter and has not been a huge fan (to say the least). Loki Dokie was absolutely terrified on her first day, and while she has warmed up a bit, she's still a shy pup who is going to need some encouragement in her forever home. She is nervous when meeting new people or faced with unfamiliar situations, but once she does get comfortable, she's an affectionate lady who sticks close to her people. Based on her limited history, we're not too sure how she would do with kids or other animals, so all introductions must be done slowly and under adult supervision. What do you say? Are you willing to help this underdog transform into the superhero we know she is?

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
