My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cratos is a sweet and low key red and white chihuahua that came to Murci's Mission from a local family who could not longer keep him. He has an estimated birthdate of 10/25/2014.

Cratos has cherry eye, and he is scheduled to have it repaired in December, so don't let that hold you back from considering him for adoption. He has experience with dogs, cats and kids and would likely live fine with any number of pets and children in his future life as long as they were gentle and kind to him in his golden years.

Cratos is crate trained and brushing up on leash manners. He is house trained but should be crated when left home alone as he will get into things.

Cratos comes neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed.  His adoption will also include his cherry eye repair, a fresh dental, and a blood panel. Because he is a senior, his adoption fee is waived.  He comes home with a leash, collar, ID tag, medical records, and a sample of the food he's been eating. To be considered to adopt Cratos, please begin by visiting www.murcismission.org and sending in an application.

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
