My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sigmund is an adorable and scruffy small mixed breed dog that came to the Mission from a local family who could no longer care for him. He has an estimated birthdate of 10/25/2017.

Sigmund is a shy guy who will need a bit of time to warm up, but once he settles in, he's pretty agile and enjoys training, playing with other dogs, and going for outings. He is good with dogs, cats, and kids. He is crate trained although can be a bit squeaky in the crate. He is potty trained, but had marked a few times while sorting out the routine in a new environment, so expect a few accidents during the acclimation period. He can walk on lead, and has some degree of off lead  recall that could be sharpened with some effort.

Sigmund comes neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed.  His adoption fee is $200 and includes a leash, collar, ID tag, medical records, and a sample of the food he's been eating.  To be considered to adopt, please begin by visiting www.murcismission.org and sending in an application.

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
