My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

From his foster family: Rocky is a spunky, energetic, and affectionate pup once you get to know him and he gets to know you; before that he is gentle but skittish. He is on medication for anxiety. He is happiest with a set routine, minimal surprises, and a place to retreat from big crowds and loud noises. At our house he gets along well with everyone, but he has a special affection for our elementary-aged daughter. He loves playing with toys and is very fond of long games of fetch, zoomies in the backyard, and leashed exploring. We have even seen him play fetch with himself, tossing a toy and then running to catch it. On walks he seems interested in all of the dogs and cats he sees, and seems to take his cue from the other animal - if they wag their tails he wags his, if they bark, he barks. We think he would enjoy living with another small and/or friendly dog. He is a healthy neutered male who can keep up with a physically active household OR relax into a more sedentary household. He has proven himself to be sweet and gentle with kids, teens, and adults (men and women). He is house trained and is good at entertaining himself if the humans are busy. It is easy to use a travel crate with him for car rides.

Disclaimer to potential adopter from Dr. Fanning:
Rocky is being treated for suspected environmental allergies. We are treating him with a monthly injection of Cytopoint . He recently had a flare up of allergies which required antibiotics, antifungal, and steroid medications. This can happy commonly unless allergies are controlled otherwise (cytopoint injection vs apoquel tablets vs allergy testing and specific targeted therapy). Your should partner with your veterinarian for this ongoing care.
