Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hesitant and loving
Jaqueline Lantern is a beautiful calico with mostly black and orange markings but has a white stripe on her face, white belly and cozy white “socks”! She has stunning golden yellow eyes...like beautiful, glowing lanterns!
Jacqueline is wary of quick movements and loud noises. She is slow to accept new humans. But, now that she's gotten more comfortable in her foster home, she crawls into her foster's bed each morning to wake her up.
Jacqueline came to APA! with a complex jaw fracture and though she has recovered physically, she is still recovering emotionally. She needs someone with patience who knows how to love from a distance until she is ready to further the connection. Her new companion(s) should not force themselves on her but rather wait for her to come around to them. And she certainly will!
Low vocals and play, Jaqueline mostly only meows when she wants something for herself or her “friends”. She loves other cats, mostly kittens, but other friendly cats are good too. The smaller the cat, the better in Jaqueline’s mind. She may not play much on her own, but with small friends, she could play all night. Jaqueline’s current foster has a kitten and they play great together. Her foster also has a small dog that Jaqueline likes to cozy up with on occasion. Jaqueline prefers calm, friendly, and small friends. The wild ones make her wary and distant.
Though Jaqueline takes her time warming up to others, she is a lover. It shows in her mothering nature with smaller cats. If the foster needs to handle one of the kittens, Jaqueline is right there to assist. She also seeks her foster out at certain times for special, individual attention. Often, in the morning, Jaqueline is waking her foster mom up! She doesn’t always accept pets and that’s part of her slowly warming up to new humans. Your patience will be rewarded and ultimately, Jaqueline just wants to feel secure she can trust her new companions and that they will stick around forever.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
