DOG TEST: (Good with Dogs) Chanda has lived with another dog and did great. She would do good in a home with another dog.
CAT TEST: (Good with Cats) Chanda has met a cat at the shelter and did good. She would do good in a home with cats.
KID TEST: (Okay with kids) Chanda has a lot of energy and would do best with older kids that can handle her playfulness. HOUSE BROKEN: (Housebroken) Chanda keeps a clean kennel and appears to be potty trained. ENERGY LEVEL: (Medium-High) Chanda is a sweet girl that has energy to play or time to relax. She loves showing her belly for belly rubs and loves any snack that she can get. Chanda is a people lover and will follow you everywhere. She would be a good addition to family that enjoys being outside or anyone that likes to relax!
LEASH WALKING: (Needs Work) Chanda tends to pull on the leash and jumps high when being walked. KNOWN COMMANDS: Sit (Yes) Down (No) Stay (No) Shake (No) Drop (No)

Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
Saturday- Sunday 10am-2pm
We ask that you come visit any time between open and no later than 30 minutes prior to closing. This ensures that staff will have enough time to assist you in meeting one of our great furry friends!

More about this shelter
We are a Municipal Animal Shelter for the City of Lee's Summit. We house animals brought in by Lee's Summit Animal Control Officers and Blue Springs Animal Control Officers.
Animals are also brought to us by owners that can no longer keep the animal or by strays that were impounded for running loose.
When an animal comes in as a stray, it is held for 5 days to give the owner a chance to claim it. If the owner does not claim it, on the 6th day it is put up for adoption or foster. During this 5 day holding period, if a potential adopter would like to adopt the animal, they are welcome to sign up on the adoption list. The names on the adoption list are contacted on the 6th day if no owner has made claim.
If there are no names on the adoption list, then the animal will become first come, first served when available for adoption.
