My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Voodoo, the ultimate cuddle companion! This snuggle-obsessed lovebug might start off a little shy—he’s just waiting for you to win him over with some treats and belly rubs. Once you do, he’ll be your new best friend, ready to shower you with affection (and maybe a few puppy eyes for extra treats). Voodoo is a calm and quiet guy who finds joy in the simple things, like a peaceful nap or an easy game of fetch. He’s a master of relaxation, but when he’s in the mood, he`ll gladly toss around his favorite stuffed toy or go to work on that treat-filled Kong before returning to his favorite spot—right by your side for a cozy cuddle session. His foster mom says he’s also a pro at crate time, settling in comfortably for a peaceful sleep without a fuss. If you’re looking for a dog who can turn every moment into a warm, loving embrace, Voodoo is the perfect match.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The LA/SPCA pet adoption process includes meeting with a matchmaker to match your lifestyle with the perfect companion. You will spend time with any of the pets you think would be a great companion. You may even want to come back another day to make sure he is the one! All of our animals must be spayed or neutered before you can take them home. Sometimes your perfect companion has not had this procedure done, so please be patient with us if you have to come back to pick him up.

All of our animals have been spayed or neutered before they are released for adoption. We encourage anyone with animals to spay or neuter their pets.

More about this shelter

Chartered in 1888, the Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LA/SPCA) is the oldest and most comprehensive animal welfare organization in the state. Our mission is to advocate for the animals of Louisiana by advancing their welfare, promoting their interests, and fostering the human-animal bond through innovative programs, education, and service.

The LA/SPCA is not a state, parish or city governed shelter. We are an independent 501(c)3 non-profit offering a broad range of services and programs including advocacy, legislative services, statewide cruelty investigations, sheltering, full-service animal control (Orleans Parish only), adoption, disaster response, education, and obedience programs.
