My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Taquito is an adorable ~11lb, 7 year old terrier mix who was rescued from Carson high kill shelter in CA. He was rescued along with his buddy, Blanquito. Both pups ended up at the shelter with one of their puppies; the puppies were adopted out but these two left behind. We couldn't say no to these precious boys and they are now on their way to Seattle, arriving Sunday Oct 20th. Shelter videos show these sweet boys enjoying pets from the shelter staff, eager for affection and happy go lucky. Taquito is noted as being the more confident one of the duo.

Foster Update:

Taquito is a gentle ball of fluff that is gaining confidence in his foster home. His tail is always wagging for walks and he seems to enjoy being outside. Taquito lives in an apartment in downtown Seattle and though he is a little nervous, he is adjusting. In this regard, he will be suitable for apartment living. Taquito sticks close to you on walks and doesn't pull on the leash nor show any signs of reactivity to other humans, children, or dogs (even barking ones). He is a good walker but generally a chill dog with mild-moderate exercise requirements. Taquito does love to cuddle.

Taquito is making good progress on crate training and sleeps through the night, though he can be whiny at first when left alone. Having talk radio play in the background at night or when leaving Taquito alone comforts him. Taquito is coexisting happily with the cat in his foster home. Taquito is likely a low-shed dog, though we do not know his exact breed composition or hypoallergenic qualities. Taquito's adopter should be committed to maintaining his grooming.
