Update: Linda has been in foster care for 2 months now and she is doing so well! She is a very sweet girl that loves cuddles and greets everyone she meets happily. She likes playing ball and her leg has not hindered her one bit. She is enjoying the cooler weather and will now go lay in the sun when she goes out in the yard. She now likes both resident dogs equally and no longer barks at the cats. Both cats greet her with head butts now, too.
--- Linda is adjusting to her foster home in Cape Coral, FL that has two dogs, two cats, and a teenager. She seems to prefer the smaller female dog. She is a velcro dog and lap dog that loves to be near and touching her human. She does well going potty in a fenced yard and walks well on a leash. She has shown interest in cats and has even been given head butts and groomed them, but will bark at them if she wants to “play” and they don’t. Other than that she is not a barker, but she will talk to you when playful. She is a pack leader and likes to be the center of attention. She is learning about treats, but I haven’t found one that she loves yet. She has also shown interest in toys, chew toys, rope toys, balls, and stuffies and will walk around with them in her mouth.

We require potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application. When that is approved we can arrange for the prospective adopter to meet the dog they are interested in. We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We have a virtual home-check process (don't forget to submit photos of the exterior of your home!) Adoption fees range depending on the age of the dog. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.

Since all rescue dogs live in foster homes, there is no single facility to meet pups.
You will need to contact Ewenity Farms HDH to make arrangements to meet the rescue dog after you have an approved app on file. Apps can be filled out at ewenityfarm.org

More about this rescue
We are a small, foster-based rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one-on-one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.
It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
