My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nina is a beautiful tricolor Basset Hound female puppy. She’s 6 months old. Her previous family couldn’t keep her longer because they had an autistic child who was afraid of her, although Nina was good with her and only wanted to play. They got Nina for the kid but it didn’t work out, unfortunately. Nina is a typical puppy! She’s very loving, playful and full of energy. We were told that she was indoor/outdoor pet at the previous home but she’s not fully housebroken yet, so she’ll still need some training on that once she gets adopted. We’re currently working on crate training, to sleep indoors at night. Nina has been doing very well with our other dogs, she likes to play with them. Unsure about cats as she hasn’t been around them, but she’s a young puppy, I’m sure she’d do good with a cat as well.

Included with adoption:

- Wellness exam
- Vaccinations up to date (2 sets of DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies)
- Rabies certificate
- Fecal test (Positive results - Giardia)
- Meds to treat Giardia (treatment finished)
- Meds to treat ear infection (treatment finished)
- FLEX4 test (Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Anaplasma and Lyme) (Negative results)
- Heartworm/Flea/tick preventive given up to date (Simparica Trio)
- Microchip with lifetime enrollment (AKC reunite)
- Spay surgery
- Leash and collar
- Adoption contract
- Some of her current food

Nina is ready to be adopted! Feel free to fill out our adoption application form if interested in adopting Nina. Pick up is in San Diego, CA.

*Please note: We’re a rescue that specialize in the Beagle breed, therefore, our application is directed to Beagles, when answering the questions please respond with the experience you may have with Basset Hounds, or other Hound breeds, not necessary Beagles.

Additional adoption info

We set up an appointment to meet our available dogs that are ready to be adopted, with potential adopters after their application has been approved. If the dog is a good fit at the meeting appointment, the dog can go home the same day.

We also offer transportation options when the potential adopter is far away and can’t come to meet / pick up a dog from us. Feel free to reach out if interested in adopting but would need transportation.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Once we have an approved application on file, we set up an appointment to meet our available dogs that are ready to be adopted, with the potential adopter. If the dog is a good fit at the meeting appointment, the dog can go home the same day. We provide a folder with all the Vet records we have from the dog as well as the adoption contract, some of the dog’s current food, leash and collar. We usually meet in local dog parks or pet stores (San Diego, CA).

More about this rescue

We’re a Beagle rescue in San Diego, CA. Although we mainly rescue Beagles, we also receive other hounds in need such as Basset Hounds and Beagle/Basset Hound mixes. We’ve been Beagle owners for the last 8 years and we decided to start rescuing about 4 years ago simply because we love the breed, we love helping hounds finding loving forever homes. So far we’ve placed about 150+ hounds successfully in adoption.
