My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buckwheat is very playful and fun to watch. When he’s finished playing, he will curl up in your lap. He has the most beautiful tiger stripes too. He needs a playmate and would love to go home with his brother Alfalfa or sister Darla, or to a home with another kitten or young cat.

I am currently being housed offsite with one of our pet store partners!
If you are interested in adopting me, I can be found at:

PetSmart in Newbury Park
2685 W. Hillcrest Dr.
Newbury Park, CA 91320

Please note, when animals get adopted at one of our offsite pet store locations, our system may not update immediately. Please contact the pet store to ensure the animal(s) you are interested in are still available for adoption. Thank you!

More about this shelter

Ventura County Animal Services (VCAS) operates two shelters within the county. The large main shelter in Camarillo houses over 400 pets and the administrative offices. Our smaller facility in Simi Valley houses nearly 40 pets at a time.

Each year, Ventura County Animal Services cares for more than 10,000 animals. Our goal is to reunite lost pets with their owners and find life-long homes for as many animals as possible, while providing proper care during their stay.
