Black & white tuxedo, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 6/1/23, #19282
Cats: good solo & good w/ her kittens Dogs: prefers not Children: calm older kids
BACKGROUND: This gorgeous young mama wandered into a yard in the Coachella Valley and promptly gave birth. Nellie had perfect instincts, because the homeowners kept her fed and safe for several weeks while they reached out to rescues. (Their pre-teen daughter named her Nellie!) The family moved into foster care where Nellie was a devoted mother and did a great job raising her babies. Now kittens and mama are all ready to find loving forever homes!
PERSONALITY: Nellie is beyond lovable. She was barely a year old when she gave birth, and she is definitely still a kitten at heart: she's playful and energetic! Nellie loves to play and pounce and is rarin' to go whenever you bring out a wand toy. She is ferocious at hunting that red laser dot. When the wands and laser pointers are put away, Nellie will purr and nuzzle against you. She's a tad reserved with strangers but is super sweet once she has a chance to get to know people.
COMPATIBILITY: Nellie has continued to be comfortable with her kittens even though they are no longer physically reliant on her. Puff especially adores her mama. Nellie was wary of other cats in her foster home, though as she shifts out of mom mode and if she's given a slow and proper introduction then she may adapt and be comfortable. She has met a gentle Labrador dog in foster care but isn't really a fan and doesn't like when there's barking or other loud noises. Older respectful children should be fine though she prefers an overall quieter home.
Sweet Nellie is beautiful inside and out. Will she bring her desert-origin warmth to your life with sunshine and smiles for years to come?
