My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Available for Adoption in New England and the Midwest – Leo!

Looking for a pup who’s equal parts adventure buddy and cuddle bug? Meet Leo — a 60 lb, 2-year-old husky mix with stunning good looks and a heart of gold!

Leo is a happy, playful guy who loves people, adores other dogs, and is great with kids. He’s got that perfect mix of goofy and sweet, and he’s already mastered “come” and “sit” like a champ! (Seriously, he’s one smart cookie!) He’s not the best match for a home with cats though — he finds them a little too much fun to chase!

As a young, energetic pup, Leo is always up for some fun — whether it’s a game of fetch, a long walk, or just zooming around the yard. He will benefit from daily exercise to keep him happy, but don’t worry — after playtime, he’s all about those cozy snuggles!

Leo is house-trained, neutered, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and microchipped — aka, ready to move in and steal your heart!

If Leo sounds like your kind of guy, apply today at www.luckylabrescue.com — he can’t wait to meet you!

More about this rescue

Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption is an all-volunteer, non-profit (currently filing for 501(c)(3) status) rescue organization whose mission is to reduce the euthanasia rates and inhumane treatment of Labrador Retrievers in the Midwest and find loving forever homes for them.

Most labs that come into Lucky Lab Rescue are from shelters here in the Midwest. Most are at risk of euthanasia, usually due to overcrowded shelters. Labs are one of the most popular breeds of dogs due to their loyal and family oriented personalities. Labs are also one of the most overbred breeds and are the number one breed to be found in shelters. They also have one of the highest euthanasia rates. Some find it difficult that rescues can be breed specific, however, Lucky Lab Rescue and other lab rescues make a huge impact on euthanasia rates just by rescuing labs and lab mixes alone.
