My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stitch is a 9 pound chihuahua mix boy who we think is about 15 months old. He makes the best goofy faces! Stitch is outgoing but has anxiety around new people and other dogs (whether he sees them or just hears them), so he needs someone that is familiar either with Chihuahuas or dogs with anxiety. He is a barker when scared. He does love to run to his humans for comfort and likes to be held and babied. He is a playful little guy when he feels comfortable. Making good progress with housebreaking.

While in foster care, Stitch has been working on some new skills.  He is now fully crate trained, knows how to play fetch and will bring you your shoes (whether you have asked for them or not).  He will also bravely catch any spiders for you!

More about this rescue

Chesed Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of unwanted animals. “Chesed” is often translated as “loving kindness”. Acts qualify as “chesed” when they are motivated by a spirit of generosity, not obligation.

Chesed is a small rescue, where we get to know each animal as an individual. Our placements focus on not just finding excellent homes, but excellent homes that are the right fit for each pet. Our adoption criteria is strict. We work hard to get these pets to safety, we donate many hours to their care, and will not settle for anything less that a great home for their future.

All of our pets are in foster homes, where they get used to being a loved house pet. If you are interested in saving lives and getting fuzzy snuggles, please apply to foster at www.chesed-rescue.org/fostering.

In addition to our adoption and education programs, we manage the Kobi center, which provides those less fortunate or those on a fixed income with necessary pet supplies, food and medications.
