My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Hickory, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. I was found as a stray dog. I do have a Cherry Eye which will be fixed by CSAC. You can see that I do have an under bite which makes me look unique. The CSAC volunteer tried to take me for a walk on a leash, but I just sat there. I didn't know what she wanted me to do so I may need more training with that leash thing. The CSAC volunteer said, "Hickory is a very sweet boy. He loved being held. He was giving kisses to everyone who held him. He just wanted to be close to whomever was holding him. He is a very affectionate pup and he stole everyone's heart." Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished pet. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator.

Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. More about this rescue

The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center Inc., unlike many other rescue organizations, opens our hearts and our homes to Cocker Spaniels (and "honorary" Cocker Spaniels) regardless of age or medical conditions. When you see the love shining back from a senior dog who has been rescued, or received little kisses from a dog so ill he/she can hardly raise their head, then you will know as we do, all dogs deserve to be rescued, healed, and loved. This has proven true for us over the many years we have been rescuing abused, neglected, and "thrown away" Cocker Spaniels. Because of our beliefs, our work is never done but our hearts are always full. We are an all-volunteer organization, so all donations and Adoption Fees go directly to helping keep these rescued Cocker Spaniels' tails wagging.
