My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Available in New England and the Midwest - Henry

Say hello to Henry! Henry is an approximately 10 month old 42 lb. lab mix.

Henry enjoys chin scratches and cuddles with his people. His tail goes crazy each time you enter the room or call his name. He enjoys playtime with his two canine foster brothers and loves a good squeaky toy. henry has shown playful curiosity towards cats and could find himself at home with a feline.companion.

Henry LOVES food and will make sure you know just home much he appreciates his meals. Henry is potty trained, walks well on a harness and will sleep in his crate with only a little bit of fussing. Currently, he knows how to sit and how to give you his paw! Henry is still timid in public places and will require some patience outside of his safe space.

He is also up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, neutered and microchipped.

More about this rescue

Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption is an all-volunteer, non-profit (currently filing for 501(c)(3) status) rescue organization whose mission is to reduce the euthanasia rates and inhumane treatment of Labrador Retrievers in the Midwest and find loving forever homes for them.

Most labs that come into Lucky Lab Rescue are from shelters here in the Midwest. Most are at risk of euthanasia, usually due to overcrowded shelters. Labs are one of the most popular breeds of dogs due to their loyal and family oriented personalities. Labs are also one of the most overbred breeds and are the number one breed to be found in shelters. They also have one of the highest euthanasia rates. Some find it difficult that rescues can be breed specific, however, Lucky Lab Rescue and other lab rescues make a huge impact on euthanasia rates just by rescuing labs and lab mixes alone.
