My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone, I'm Doug! The nice people who brought me in don't know much about me, except I'm a very good boy who loves a good head scratch! I'm gaining a bit of weight every day and recovering from my time on the loose. I think I like other dogs and cats are cool too. If you promise a treat, I'll even show you that I can sit and give you my paw.

The rescue wants you to know that I'm sweet, active, great on walks, crate trained with no accidents (!!!), love cuddling and tug-a-rope, and am the best people-watcher partner on this side of town :) I have some skin allergies, but doc says I'm doing well with treatment. I have a tendency to "resource guard," which means I don't really appreciate when people try to get close to or take my food or favorite toys (like my ducky)! The nice people here say it's because I want to protect my things after my time on the streets, but all I need is reassurance and patience as I adjust and learn that everything is okay now.

If you'd like to take me home forever, please submit an application! I'd love to meet you soon :)
