My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Confident and curious, Kurama is the ultimate companion and lover boy! He’ll settle into his forever home in a few days and then he’ll always want to stay close to you while also keeping an eye on his sweet daughter, East, to make sure she’s comfortable too.

This affectionate guy loves to spoon with his human on the bed or couch, and he’ll happily join you for movie nights, purring like a kitten when you scratch or brush him. His adorable sleeping positions (like a human toddler sometimes) will make you smile, and you may just need to take an unexpected nap with him.

Unlike East, Kurama goes wild for treats, particularly Churu and Temptations, and he has a funny ritual for drinking water—arranging his bowl just right before taking sips with a thoughtful look! Like East, he’s very active, always eager to play, even bringing toys to you in bed. Kurama is a joyful cat and will share and spread that joy wherever he goes.

East and Kurama are a dynamic duo that need to be adopted together. They balance each other perfectly—Kurama’s confidence helps shy East come out of her shell more quickly than if she were on her own. He also lets you know when East is hungry, asking you for food just for her, and he’ll thank you in his own cute way. This father/daughter pair will bring you warmth, laughter, and endless cuddles. If you’re looking for a pair of sweet, fun-loving purring machines, look no further!

Kurama is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, FIV/FeLV negative, and a perfect litter box user.

Additional adoption info

Our cats are almost all in foster homes. Upon approval of your application (including reference check), we will connect you with the foster parent(s) so that you can meet the kitty you're interested in. If it's a good fit, we'll do a home check for safety issues, and then process the paperwork so that you can officially adopt your new family member!

More about this rescue

We are a network of rescuers in Central Brooklyn (primarily in Bed Stuy, Ocean Hill, and Crown Heights) who help each other out. We do both TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) as well as the rescue and adoption of friendly cats and kittens that we find on the streets. We don't have a physical facility, so our cats are usually in foster homes, or staying with us in our own homes. Our goal is to find loving, permanent homes for all the cats we take off the street, and to make better lives for the ones we return there.
