How this pet arrived:
Dusky was brought into care by a community member.

At SDHS:
Dusky has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for his new home!

Why Dusky is the one for you:
Dusky is a classic tabby with just the right brown/black markings, a prominent M marking on her forehead (like classic tabbies have) and penetrating green eyes. It all comes together to make Dusky one beautiful tabby cat. Many say tabby cats are the best and they certainly have a legion of fans who will not have anything else but a tabby. Why? Because tabbies are generally friendly, smart, affectionate, vocal and entertaining. They are good companions. Dusky says that he is ready for a home with folks who will love and care for him, provide him with safe places for napping, healthy food and a lap for sitting on. He will be a good TV watcher with you whether by your side or on your lap. He is litter box trained and ready to settle into being a good tabby for some lucky person. Could that be you? Reach out to the email address listed above.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
