My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Evie:

If you love the German Shepherd breed, then you're the person we're looking for. The person with experience in owning the breed and who knows and understands what they might encounter. Evie has that regal gate, the loyalty and the dedication to her humans. If you do consider coming to meet Evie to determine if you'd like to make her a permanent member of your family, you will be meeting a young dog who has never experienced the joy of living in a house where she can just relax by your feet and be fed when she's hungry, and share the love of a human. We really would like her to have that chance in life because we know she will be worth the work you will have to put forth.

If you believe this pretty girl would be a good addition to your home, please complete a Dog Pre-Adoption Questionnaire online:

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
