Here's what the humans have to say about me:

He's the Leader of the Pack and his name is Dawson. Dawson and his siblings were abandoned on the streets and left to fend for themselves. Dawson is thriving in foster care and is super friendly, very playful and inquisitive. He has learned to play fetch with his favorite toy. He is a loveable kitty with a big purr that starts the moment he sees you. Dawson is great with other kittens and cats. He has not been around kids or dogs but he would be fine with older children. Dawson is a great kitten who would love to find a forever home.

Dawson is shown as a Maine Coon Mix / Abyssinian / Abyssinian based solely on his appearance. We rarely take in purebred animals, so virtually all of them are a mix of several breeds. Do not make an adoption decision based only on our breed designation, especially if you are concerned about allergies.

All cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for fleas and ear mites, tested for FELV/FIV and microchipped. You must fill out an adoption application and talk directly with one of our adoption coordinators. An adoption contract must be signed at time of adoption.

You may visit The Cat House daily, except major holidays, 1-4 pm, by appointment only. We also have an off-site adoption center located inside Petco at 4144 N. Blackstone at Ashlan in Fresno, which is open open daily 10am-5pm and Wednesday 10am-6pm.

The Cat House on the Kings is California's largest no-cage, no-kill, lifetime cat sanctuary and adoption center located on 12 acres along the Kings River in Parlier, California, which is in the central San Joaquin Valley, southeast of Fresno.

At The Cat House, our mission is to:
1) provide a no-cage, no-kill sanctuary for feral and abandoned cats and kittens for the State of California, primarily serving the Central Valley;
2) facilitate the adoption of cats (primarily), dogs and other rescued animals into safe, loving, healthy and permanent homes;
3) educate the public on how to become directly involved in improving the quality of animal welfare;
4) offer low cost spay and neuter referrals.
