Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Saranyu, our 60 pound 18-month-old Rottie, has a very rare 100% rating on Stumpy Tomatoes (full disclosure: we don't actually rate our dogs). One reviewer, a chicken, had this to say: "Saranyu? Saran-who! She ignored me. 10/10". Another, a cow, remarked "oh that Rottweiler? She's more like a lamb, am I right? I thought those were supposed to be tough. A+". Every person and animal who has met our Saranyu has nothing but good things to say. We're regretting not having room to keep her ourselves.
Saranyu was surrendered to the shelter when her previous person could no longer care for her. She hadn't had much veterinary care and had a terrible skin and ear infection. We took her in to clear up her infections and get her feeling her best. It took several weeks, but now Saranyu is healthy, shiny, and happy. She may struggle with allergies in the future, but currently Saranyu is symptom free on Apoquel. If she has to stay on this medication (she may not), expect around $20 per week.
Leash trained, crate trained and polite, Saranyu is a fun guest. She loves all people and other dogs and is as respectful to cats as she was to chickens. Saranyu is very playful and is happy to entertain herself by tossing toys (toys is a loose term here. Saranyu will play with anything that fits in her mouth.). One of Saranyu's favorite pastimes is collecting pinecones and she'll happily carry them on walks. Saranyu is great with kids but has a bouncy play style so bigger/older kids would be best. Smart and eager to please, Saranyu has learned several commands. Although she isn't quite fluent, she's getting the hang of obedience. Cuddly and affectionate, Saranyu melts with affection and will do anything for a belly rub.
Saranyu is heartworm negative and is current on her flea and heartworm preventatives.
"So cute I nearly passed out," said a passerby. "A Rottie with a tail? Heck yeah," said her veterinarian. Ready to meet the "can't miss dog of the year"? Apply to adopt at www.stumptownstrays.org
