My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi!  My name is Zuma! I have silky soft black fur, chocolate-colored ears, and brindle accents on my face and legs and weigh 26 pounds. My foster mom says the brindle lines on my face make me look like I’m puzzled or worried, which is funny because I’m actually a happy, adventurous gal! Either way, my foster mom thinks I’m really beautiful.

Here is my story. I was born in rescue on April 14, 2024. My momma is a beautiful lab mix who weighs about 60 pounds.

My foster family says I’m very playful! I love, love, love to enjoy the backyard with people and other dogs. My nickname is Zoomie-Zoom because I love to run and play! I also love to explore the grass and the garden. I like toys, yet I’m also thrilled to find a stick or a leaf to play with!  Even an ice cube is great fun!

My foster family is teaching me to go potty outside. I sometimes have an accident if I’m not taken out regularly, but every time we go outside, the first thing I do is go potty. I am also learning to sit for my dinner. My foster family is using positive reinforcement clicker training with me, and I am catching on super fast!  It’s fun!

While my favorite place to be is snuggled on the couch with my people, I do feel safe in my crate and will run in there if I get scared. I sleep all night in my crate and I only whine if I need to go potty. I am comfortable wearing a harness but I’m still learning how to walk on a leash. In conclusion, my foster family says I’m a very sweet, well-socialized puppy!
