Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Remington, a reserved and selective Pit Bull Terrier who takes his time getting to know new people. During his stay at CHRS, he’s shown that he only trusts those who are patient and willing to build a bond with him. Remington is gentle when taking treats and will even offer a polite sit for you. He loves toys that make noise and is great on the leash. Because he sometimes forgets his size during playtime, we recommend a home with children aged 13 and up.
We are not sure how Remington would do in a home with cat friends.
Remington should do great in a home with other dogs given a proper introduction.
Remington has recently done excellent on a few field trips out of the shelter. He has visited coffee shops, gone to parks, and hiked trails. He has been described as attentive, super friendly, and calm. He does great with walking on a leash and likes to stick close to his human.
Here is what our volunteers have to say about him:
"He did super on his Doggy Day Out! We walked by a few people at the marsh and no reaction towards people. He stayed right at my side ignoring them. Remington is a perfect pup who remains calm and very quiet being out. He is very attentive and aware of where you are. Love this pup and any home would be happy to have him."
"Remington did great on his Doggy Day Out!! He warmed up real quick to me and liked to be near me, he always seemed to check to see where I was on walks when he was in front. He does great on walks and stays right by your side nice and easy. He is very friendly and loves lounging in the grass catching some sun. Remington loved being out exploring and getting to know one another. He is a wonderful pup. Love this dog!"
"Today for a doggy day out, I had Remington! I was warned of stranger danger when I picked him up and he was pretty stand-off-ish with me for the first 30 minutes or so and then he had zero issues with any bypassers. I read his bio and used extra care and patience with him, and then he warmed up to my daughter and I and ended up being the most gentle lover cuddly boy ever! My daughter actually cried when we dropped him back off at 4 at CRHS.
He got a pup cup, and we hiked the Great River Trail by David Reays for a few miles and then went to another park. Remy walked very well on a leash and waited for me if I was stopped for a minute.
He was very attentive to us and always made eye contact to make sure he knew where we were and what was going on. He was alert but also very mellow and is such a trusting soul."
Remington is a 3-year-old pitbull terrier. He is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and is currently weighing 56lbs. If you’re ready to earn Remington’s trust, he could be the perfect companion for you!
