Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ferido is a 5-month-old neutered male who is current on his vaccinations and is microchipped!
Ferido had a previous traumatic fracture of both hind legs at a very young age; luckily, our friends at Hillside Vet Hospital had an orthopedic surgeon come in and repair his hind legs! While his left rear leg has recovered beautifully (per the surgeon), you'd hardly know he had any issues with it in the first place! His right leg is weight-bearing and he uses it to run, jump, and play like a normal kitten but it has stiffness and appears to stay in a straight, locked position when trying to put himself in the perfect loaf or using the litterbox. Other than that, his previous injuries don't appear painful and he's living life to the fullest!
Meet Ferido! As you've previously read, he's been through a lot in his short life but he's still a wild child looking for an active home (which will keep him running and jumping to keep his right leg active). He loves to follow his foster momma around and loves to be pet and cuddle in her lap. He always loves playtime and will play with nearly everything. So he's definitely the best of both worlds. He loves to climb his scratching post and uses it beautifully, just like his litterbox!
Ferido has lived with other kitties and is required to be in a home with another lively cat to keep his activity levels high to ensure good function and strength in his rear legs. He currently lives with his bestie, Floralia (pictured above with him), and would love to go home with her! He would do best in a home with other lower-energy dogs and kids over 5yrs (due to the rough handling kids and dogs can sometimes unintentionally have with kitties).
If you are interested in adopting, start by filling out an application on our website and emailing it to frontdesk@couleehumane.com OR you can print it and drop it off in person: https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal?rq=application
