Here's what the humans have to say about me:
***Thanks to a donation from the Andy and Connie Ziemelis Charitable Fund, select cats are having their adoption fees sponsored by the Home Sweet Home Program – including Verity's!
Verity is an 11-month-old spayed female. She is current on her vaccinations, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative!
Meet Verity! Verity is a sweet but very shy lady who is waiting to find a loving and patient forever family who can help her continue to come out of her shell. She will need some time to adjust in a new home but once she starts to become comfortable with her surroundings, her sweet personality will begin to emerge. She does like gentle pets from her favorite people once she gets a chance to know you - and the quickest way to earn her trust is with lots of yummy treats as she LOVES her food! Once she has adjusted, she is an active, playful, and goofy young lady who enjoys chasing around her toys, exploring her surroundings, and playing with other kitties.
Verity is a sweet girl who does best in a calmer environment with humans who understand that she may need some time to adjust to a new home and prefers her space at times when she gets stressed out. So, she is looking for a cat-savvy family with older children at least 10 years of age or older who won't chase or scare her as she does startle easily from fast movements and loud noises. She may do ok with calmer dogs given slow and proper introductions to one another and she has her own 'safe' space to relax in should she get overwhelmed.
Verity currently resides in a communal living area here at the shelter with several other cats who she adores and relies on for comfort when she needs it. She really started to come out of her shell and show her young-spirited, playful, and goofy personality when she had a buddy right by her side. So, she is required to go to a home with another feline friend.
