Big John is an adorable Bichon recently rescued from an Amish puppy mill. He has lived his whole life in a cage which has caused him to be fairly shy. John is good with dogs, cats and older kids. Fast movements scare him. He is not housebroken. Big John will be coming to Maine next weekend and will be neutered before going to his forever home. He’s 3 yrs old and 10 pounds.

More about this rescue

Passion for Pets Rescue (PPR) is a non-profit (501c3), insured and state licensed rescue, run by volunteers. We are a small group of like minded folks with big hearts. PPR does not have an actual shelter, all of our dogs are either in foster homes in Maine or with our Southern partners in Mississippi.

PPR covers all medical expenses. The majority of the dogs we rescue require immediate veterinary care. Skin infections and internal parasites are common occurrences. We pay for all spay & neuter surgeries. PPR makes sure all dogs are given age appropriate vaccinations, as well as, preventative medication for Heartworm and external parasites.
