Meet Gazpacho, an 11-year-old, 10-pound Chihuahua mix from Brooklyn with a heart as big as his name! Despite his senior age, Gazpacho is a bright and bouncy pup who loves cuddling in bed, chewing on bones, and exploring the outdoors. He thrives on routine, and although he's had the occasional accident, he's largely house-trained and making progress on learning new behaviors like coming when called and not jumping on people.
Gazpacho does best in familiar surroundings, and while he walks well on known routes, he sometimes freezes when exploring new areas. A little encouragement and some gentle pets usually get him going again. If not, he's small enough to be scooped up and carried with ease. He’s the kind of dog who enjoys a mix of downtime and active moments, appreciating both cozy naps with his favorite blanket and low-key adventures.
In his foster home, Gazpacho has done well with being left alone and shows no signs of separation anxiety. He is comfortable in his crate and enjoys the cozy, secure environment. Although Gazpacho hasn't shown much interest in toys, he loves to be around his people, soaking up affection and attention.
While he is doing well with other dogs during his time in foster care, we feel like he may be happiest not sharing his space. He doesn't seek out other dogs attention in the home, but can coexist fine. Due to his occasional grumpiness, especially when woken up or late at night, we recommend a home without young, enthusiastic children. Gazpacho is the perfect companion for a low-key family who will provide him with the structure, routine, and love he deserves.
Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
To apply for Gachi, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.
Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.
