Call me Ibrahim. Even at 7-months-old I am a regal brown tabby gentleman with dark stripes and a sleek build. I am cautious, playful, athletic and a big love. I was born a barn kitty in Kansas, where some truly caring people watched over me and eventually brought me to Wild Blue for a chance at the house cat life. I'm still quite shy, but I'm opening up to humans more each day. I startle at noises and movement, so a home without dogs, young children, or lots of people is needed. I will succeed in a quiet home with calm, gentle people who are willing to meet me where I'm at. I love friendly feline companions and would happily be adopted with one of my siblings Interstellar or Integra. If you want to be my friend start with calm wand play and a soft voice, maybe giving me a safe high place like a shelf or a cat tree to watch you from. Once I start to trust you, you can bring out the laser pointer or approach me with slow hands for pets around my cheeks and ears. As we get to know each other I will show you my belly, purr and make biscuits while you rub my chest. When I really trust you, I will sit snuggled up against you or climb into your lap for cuddles. My foster mom says I have the most satisfying lover-boy purr because I make you earn it. I am so highly food motivated that I'm prone to stealing food wrappers and licking dishes I know I shouldn't. I can also be food possessive with other cats. I need a family that is willing to help me manage my hunger in a healthy and kind way, and that can stick to a feeding strategy. For example, I'm already using feeding toys and puzzles in my foster home. You should also watch for doors left open, as I am likely to dash for them. I am great with the litter box and scratchers. I'm open to careful claw trimming and brushing, but I am extremely fearful of carriers, car rides, and vets. My future family can help me overcome this with thoughtful preparation and continuing the training I've already begun. Wild Blue has taken care of my neuter surgery, early vaccines and negative FELV test. I still have some things to learn about living with humans, so I need a family that is committed to patiently working at my pace. I'm a snuggle bug in training that's worth any effort, so please fill out an application and schedule a visit with me soon.
