My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Max (A136339) is a 1-year-6-month old hound mix who weighed nearly 60 lbs at intake!

10/25/24 This handsome, energetic boy is Max! Max arrived at the shelter as a stray so we do not know much about him other than what we have seen and the information provided by his finder. It is very possible that Max comes from a troubled past, as he had a history of wandering the neighborhood. Max can also be unsure of new situations. He is looking for a patient home that is willing to respect his boundaries until he is comfortable. Due to his uncertainty, we recommend his next home not have young children. We do not know if Max has history with other dogs or animals, so please make sure all introductions are slow and controlled. Max had done wonderful at keeping his kennel clean while at the shelter, so he may be housebroken! We do not know about Max's level of training, but a basic obedience class and possibly some advanced one-on-one classes with a certified trainer would be a great way to work on his confidence and helping Max to understand that the world is not as scary as he thinks. If you are interested in meeting this shy young man, please give the shelter a call!October 31, 2024, 11:10 pm
