My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jimmy or Jimbo as I call him a lot of times, is a fantastic foster puppy. I have fostered many dogs over the years and they don’t come much sweeter than this boy. He lives with me and my 6 dogs of different sizes and ages and spends a bunch of time at my dog boarding facility. He is a fan favorite with the other dogs and my employees. He stays at my house in a kennel at night and will go in when told, sleeps quietly all night and never makes a mess. He waits for me to let him out in the morning and he runs out the door. When I’m home he has free run of house and uses doggy door to let himself out. He is very playful of course and I provide him a pile of bones and toys, so that has kept him from chewing up anything in my house. He had to wear a cone after is surgery for his neuter and he did not even care, no issues, He loves to be held and will flip over in an instant for a good belly rub. He has a very open personality and loves everyone and everything. His energy level is high and will need some room to run around for his breed. Jimmy is going to be very tough to let go, but I told him that we would find him the very best home. He is not sure what that means, but we will find him his furever home.

More about this rescue

Abandoned Animal Rescue is a no-kill dog / cat shelter located in Magnolia serving Northwest Harris and Southern Montgomery Counties in Texas. It is staffed by dedicated volunteers devoted to saving the lives of homeless and unwanted companion animals.

AAR's mission is to work towards ending pet overpopulation that results in the euthanasia of unwanted cats and dogs. We do this by providing a rescue and adoption center, by emphasizing the importance of spaying and neutering and by educating on humane animal ownership. AAR is committed to the emotional, physical, and behavioral well being of each animal in our care.

All animals surrendered to the shelter are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and wormed; dogs are tested for heartworms and, if positive, are treated.

All operating money for AAR comes from
clinic and adoption fees, donations, and fundraisers. AAR receives no government money.
