My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Empanada, our sweet cuddle bug! Her beautiful golden coat fits right in with the fall foliage!

Empanada is a social butterfly who can’t get enough snuggles and ear scratches! She truly adores her people and loves getting their affection. When it’s playtime, her fun-loving spirit shines through as she happily chases after her toys. Empanada also loves taking long, sniff-filled walks and she’s shown us her great leash manners!

Empanada is looking for a home where she can be the center of attention – this dumpling pup would do best as the only dog in the home. She would also thrive with a family who enjoys staying active just as much as she does. Empanada is eager to go on adventures by your side!

  • Empanada needs a home with no other dogs.
  • Empanada would benefit from an active adopter who can keep her busy with fun and exercise!
  • An Admissions and Placement Specialist can give you tips to help set Empanada up for housetraining success.

**The ASPCA is committed to prioritizing the health and safety of the community, the animals in our care and our staff, and we are keeping a close eye on developments related to the COVID-19 crisis as they evolve. As such, the ASPCA Adoption Center in New York City is currently closed for in-person visitors. However, we are excited to offer remote adoptions using video conferencing! In-person meet-and-greets are also sometimes available or required for specific animals. Please check out our available cats and dogs above, and if one catches your eye, apply directly for him or her. An ASPCA Matchmaker will let you know if the animal you are interested in adopting is eligible for or requires an in-person meet-and-greet.

Please note: Adoption applications are handled in the order they are received and submitting an adoption survey does not constitute a hold or guaranteed adoption. You can expect to receive automated emails updating you on your adoption status as our Matchmakers go through applications. Thank you for your patience, and we hope you find your match!**

More about this shelter

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. Our organization was founded by Henry Bergh in 1866 on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans, and must be protected under the law. Headquartered in New York City, the ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend our anti-cruelty mission across the country, we are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. We are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and proud to boast more than 1 million supporters across the country.
