My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Eddie was found in March 2024, in a locked, empty storage unit along with a cat. No food, no water, not even something to lay on. Extremely dehydrated and nothing but bones, Eddie was barely clinging on to life. He was rushed to the vet and was started on life saving treatment. Eddie survived but at first he was extremely snappy and did not want to be touched. We can only wonder the abuse this poor little dog suffered.
Eddie has been neutered, had his teeth cleaned, and his fur has grown back. He loves other dogs and cats and still likes to play a little with them. He is very affectionate and likes to be petted now. Eddie will stand on your leg to be petted, though he is still a little wobbly on his feet. There are times when Eddie will still snap, though usually it's when another pet wants to horn in on his petting and attention. He gives a warning when he starts to feel snappy and we simply withdraw our hands and he is fine. He has not bitten his foster parents even once.
No he is not perfect. Not being neutered and probably kept in a cage most of his life, Eddie is wary and still marks a little in the house. He loves to be outside and is very social with other pets. We feel that his back is a little curved from being kept in a too small crate. He had x-rays and there is no damage showing. A little arthritis.

Eddie would be a good companion. He just needs a quiet home where he can get attention and some love to live out his days. He deserves a good life to help make up for the bad life he has had.

More about this rescue

Animal Allies of Texas is a 501(c)(3) animal advocacy/rescue organization, dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community. Our goal is to build a no-kill shelter on enough land to house not only "adoptable" animals, but "treatable" ones as well - those who need medical care or behavior modification to become adoptable. While working toward this goal, we will also engage in community service and humane education projects to help bring about "humanity championed by thought."
