Maisy is a petite, quiet, but alert herding dog (approx. 2 years old) who was rescued from Pima Animal Care Center. Spayed 10/29/2024. We don’t know much about her except that she was picked up as a stray. She seems like some type of cattle dog (has a bobbed tail), but there might be Australian Kelpie mixed in her as she does not bark (we have heard some quiet woofing while she dreams.) She is VERY smart!! She is learning to walk on a leash (can find her way home) and would make a good trail companion. She is potty trained and knows how to use the doggy door. Maisy is non-destructive when left alone and always super excited to greet you at the door when you return home!
Sleep:
She sleeps on her dog bed all night - but would happily sleep in your bed!
Social:
She loves being outdoors and will often sit outside by herself
Can build trust with her through food/treats
She will “sit” for treats
She seeks out pets on her terms and enjoys getting brushed.
An AirTag or GPS tracker collar tag is recommended

We require all animals to meet current resident animals and for there to be a 1-3 night overnight trial period. Following this, if the dog is a good fit, we will fill out adoption forms.

More about this rescue
Hello! Thanks for checking us out. We are a 501-c3 non profit rescue and rehab service in Tucson, AZ
We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs from the streets of Mexico in cooperation with other animal rescue organizations in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Our shelter in Hermosillo, Sonora, Vidas Con Causa, currently has over 150 dogs. There, we provide medical care and a loving place for them to heal before coming to the US, then we foster and work on finding the perfect fit for adoption. You can also visit the available dogs at the rescue in Mexico. Our rescue partners spend a lot of time getting to know the dogs and we know MOST of their
perks and quirks!
We help special needs dogs, the amputees, the pregnant Pitties, the MexiMutts, those from small independent shelters who don't get much notice, the cancer patients. We provide round-the-clock care until these dogs are ready for rehoming.
