CENSUS DEADLINE-Medical Distemper Puppies 5PM 11/12/24 Name: Nimbus, Star and Comet Animal ID: A850307, 850306, 853473 Age: 6 months Weight: ~30lbs About: These sweet, shy girls were surrendered to PACC by their owners who could no longer care for them. They unfortunately are positive for Distempervirus and therefore are taking critical kennel space for their isolation. These girls were amazing in their temporary foster home, but they need out of the shelter ASAP due to our kennel crisis. They can be shy and may need time to warm up in a home, having another confident dog around would benefit them greatly for socialization. Nimbus = adventurous, feisty, and exuberant (give me all the toys) Comet = snuggly and affectionate (might spend all her time on your lap if allowed) Star = gentle and more reserved
Medical: Distemper is a virus that has no cure but is a part of the core vaccines that dogs get. Fully vaccinated adult dogs are not at risk for catching the virus. The virus itself in the infected animal can cause symptoms in their respiratory, GI issues or central nervous systems. Currently these girls are being treated for upper respiratory symptoms. PACC will cover all their medical/donated supplies for a foster. It takes up to 3-4months for the puppies to stop “shedding” the virus and be able to be incorporated into normal day-to-day activities (dog parks, etc).
There is an incentive of 5$/day to take one of these girls home.
Pre-Adoption/Foster Process: Interested parties: •Must visit PACC before 5:00 PM, November 12, 2024, deadline to meet with an adoption or foster counselor who will go over notes and then introduce you to ensure that it’s a good fit.
