My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Mia was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on October 23, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Mia, a delightful cat looking for her new home. She's an affectionate companion who enjoys the quieter side of life, making her a wonderful addition to any household. Mia's personality shines through her calm and confident demeanor. She loves to engage with her humans, often rubbing against your legs and soliciting attention. Occasionally, she'll curl up on your lap, and you might even receive sweet little kisses from her. Mia enjoys exploring her surroundings and has a playful spirit, especially when it comes to her toys. When it comes to other animals, Mia is curious and playful. She has shown interest in other cats, dogs, and teenagers, but she has not been exposed to young children. Her interactions with other pets suggest she could adapt well, though she tends to be selective about her feline friends. Mia is facing some dental challenges, which will require her to see a vet in the near future. With proper care, she can continue to be the amazing companion she is. If you're ready to welcome a charming cat into your life, Mia could be the fit for you!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
