My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ben!

Ben is a gentle young man with a goofy heart of gold. This incredibly smart dog has an insatiable sense of curiosity, always eager to know what you're up to and poking his head around every corner for a sniff. Despite his large size, of which he's not always aware, he loves to snuggle and roll around with his human. Bruno is house-trained and impressively polite, never barking or growling to disrupt the peace. Ben's intelligence shines through in his curiosity and love for learning new commands. He gets very excited to learn something new and in only a few weeks already knows sit, down, stay, and leave it, with his recall improving every day.

Ben is quite calm and relaxed, especially given his breed - he is happy to spend his day napping in front of the fireplace and watching the world out the window, intermittently coming to say hello to his human and ask for a pet or a belly rub, before heading off to do his own thing. Ben comes alive during walks and outdoor adventures, and is happy to meet other large doggy friends with proper introduction. His strong sniff drive makes him a great candidate for scent work, and he loves to play with anything that squeaks. He can get quite excited when playing and be unaware of where his mouth is, so he is not suitable for a home with small children or small animals.

Ben's journey hasn't been easy. When he first came to us he was initially nervous in his new surroundings. Ben grew up in a rural area, so he prefers a quiet home, and is still unsure about loud noises like heavy vehicle traffic and sirens. He is a little shy around new people, but warms up quickly, showing his sweet, playful nature. Ben needs a dog-experienced home that can provide him with the companionship, stimulation, and patience he needs, particularly to help manage his separation anxiety and to learn calm leash walking.

With his courageous, sensitive spirit,Ben is open to new experiences and is making incredible progress in building his confidence. If you're ready to give Ben the love and attention he deserves, he will reward you with endless affection and loyalty.

Do you think you could be Ben's person?
