Zach von Zenting is a beautiful and very sweet 11-month-old Shepherd mix. This gorgeous guy is completely house-trained, uses a doggie door and goes to his crate on his own for naps and bedtime. He revels in playing with his toys, tossing them in the air or atop a bed and then jumping up to retrieve them. Zach is in a foster home with two other dogs with whom he loves to play and go on walks, and he is an affectionate household greeter when someone comes to visit. Such a great family dog, Zach will thrive in a home with another dog and children 10 and older. Oh, we forgot to mention that he is a tripod, mainly because he can do anything a four-legged dog can do!
Rescued from the Inland Valley animal shelter.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Zach von Zenting YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org
Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

In order to adopt any dog from Westside German Shepherd Rescue, one must fill out an adoption application first. Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
