My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stella`s Compatibility:
Dogs - Meet & Greet
Cats - Unknown
Kids - Yes, all ages

Stella’s world has turned upside down, and now she’s searching for a second chance. Her owner had to surrender her due to a move and demanding new job, leaving Stella and her dog sibling, Zebo, behind. It’s a heartbreaking situation for such a loyal and loving girl who only ever wanted to be part of a family.

Stella has a heart full of love and a lifetime of devotion to give. She’s housebroken and wonderful with kids of all ages. Stella thrives with confident people and loves her family fiercely. She’s protective, barking at unfamiliar faces, but with patience and reassurance, she warms up beautifully to those who approach her with confidence.

Her previous family got her a dog companion to help with her separation anxiety, and it worked. Stella loved having a friend by her side, and the two balanced each other perfectly. While she’s reactive to dogs outside of her home, she shines when she’s surrounded by people who make her feel safe and loved.

Stella’s perfect home is one filled with patience, love, and the promise that she’ll never be left behind again. Could you be her second chance? Stella is waiting.

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
