My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Amelia (born around September of 2023) is a tan and white pit bull mix that came to Safe Haven after being found as a stray running in the street and dragging a long makeshift tie-down behind her. She is very high energy, active, and playful, and she especially seems to enjoy the company of other canines as well as humans. Amelia is hoping for a forever family who will be patient with her as she learns the rules of living in a home and able to provide plenty of activities for her energy level.

Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary (SHAS) is a no-kill, 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded in 1996, and is the largest and longest-running no-kill facility in the Las Cruces, NM area. SHAS provides medical care, food, shelter and comfort to nearly 90 homeless cats and dogs of our community, while seeking caring homes for them.
