MEET ARCHIE!
*Needs a cat friend!

Clearly a smart and resourceful cat, Archie decided to befriend a kind citizen in his neighborhood, meowing his way into getting fed and ultimately hitching a ride to our Dedham location to find a forever home. Archie is gradually settling into his new situation, relaxing in our Colony Room with the other cats. Understandably, Archie will need some time to get acclimated in his forever home as he`s been through a lot of changes recently. He loves stinky wet food so if you`d like to meet him, you can introduce yourself with a tasty snack in hand. Archie seems to seek out the company of other cats here at the shelter, so we are requiring him to go home to a cat friend. Come meet this big orange and white hunk and see if he`s a good fit for you!

Archie is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team.

The Animal Rescue League of Boston is committed to matching adoptable animals with a permanent home. Our conversation-based, application-free adoption process is designed so that the needs of both the animal and the adopter are understood and compatible with one another. We require the following as part of the adoption process:
* Adopter must be 18 years of age or older
* A current government-issued ID (no student IDs)
* Have a conversation with an ARL adoption counselor
* A photo of the cage your pet will live in, if adopting a small animal or bird

Situated 10 miles southwest of Boston on the beautiful grounds of the former summer sanctuary for the city’s working horses, ARL’s newly remodeled shelter in Dedham, Massachusetts is just a glimpse into ARL’s bold future. The new modern shelter design allows us to provide even more animals with high-quality direct animal care that meets best-practice standards in animal welfare.

The 27-acre property serves as ARL’s main livestock center and is home to Pine Ridge Pet Cemetery, the oldest continuously operated pet cemetery by a humane society in the United States.
