My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Available for Adoption in Texas: Mabel!

Mabel is a vibrant 6-year-old, weighing in at 60 pounds. She’s not just beautiful; she’s always camera-ready, with a smile that will light up your day. If you’re looking for a photogenic pup, Mabel is your girl – she’s a total ham!

With her big personality and energetic spirit, Mabel loves to be part of the action. She enjoys the company of other dogs but would prefer not to feel confined by gates or crates when they’re nearby. If you currently have a dog at home, we recommend a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone’s a good fit!

While we’re not sure how she would be around cats, she hasn’t shown much interest when passing by them on walks.

Mabel is eager to please, especially when there are treats involved, making her a great candidate for continued positive reinforcement training with an experienced owner. She’d do best in a home with adults or families with older teens.

House-trained, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed, Mabel is all set for her forever home.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Potential adopters must fill out an application and a Lucky Lab representative will follow up with both a phone and home interview. Our adoption fee includes all vaccinations, microchip, spay or neuter and a heart worm test and treatment for heart worm if needed.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster based rescue, if you become an approved adopter we will make arrangements to meet the dog you are interested in.

The great news is our dogs come house trained, they learn to live in a home and household and they are all "vetted" vaccinated, neutered/spayed and microchipoed.

Thank you!

More about this rescue

Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) approved rescue organization whose mission is to reduce the euthanasia rates and inhumane treatment of Labrador Retrievers and lab mixes and find them loving forever homes.

Most labs that come into Lucky Lab Rescue are from municipal and county shelters in Texas. Most are at risk of euthanasia, usually due to overcrowed conditions, great dogs who ended up in a bad spot.

Labs are one of the most popular breeds of dogs due to their loyal and family oriented personalities. Labs are also one of the most overbred breeds and are the number one breed to be found in shelters. They also have one of the highest euthanasia rates. Some find it difficult that rescues can be breed specific, however, Lucky Lab Rescue and other lab rescues make a huge impact on euthanasia rates just by rescuing labs and lab mixes alone.
