Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Orchid! This playful 1-year-old beauty is as sweet as they come, with a soft purr and slightly crossed eyes that add to her charmingly derpy look. At only 1 year old, this silly and energetic girl still has lots of playful kitten energy and is sure to bring lots of entertainment and laughs to her new family!
Although she's very affectionate and likes to be pet and snuggle up next to you, like a lot of cats, she very much does not like being picked up or having her belly touched (and is not afraid to tell you that!). For those reasons, she wouldn't do well with young kiddos who might want to carry a kitty around and needs a family who will respect her boundaries. Based on her condition when surrendered, we wouldn't be surprised if this was caused by some trauma in her past!
Given her boundless kitten energy, we think she'd do best in a home with another cat friend or a cat-friendly dog to run around and play with, though she would need a proper intro to make sure everyone gets off on the right foot.
She was surrendered to a shelter by her owner with a wound on her neck that had to be treated. If you notice a yellow spot, that's where the medication stained her fur, but it's growing out and the wound is totally healed.
Here's a great resource on overstimulation, a very common behavior in cats: https://www.ddfl.org/resources/overstimulated-cats/
