My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

COCOPOP / Male / 3 years 2 months / Mixed Breed / 23lbs or 10.4kg / Originally from Barbados / Fostered near Barrie

Good with dogs, cats and kids / house and crate trained

Are you ready to go cuckoo for Cocopop?? He sure is ready for you! Cocopop can’t wait to find his perfect family who he can entertain with his goofy antics and adorable personality.

Cocopop is a friendly, adventurous pup. This little guy warms up quickly to women, while men might need to be a bit patient before Cocopop shows his affectionate side. But once you’re in his circle, get ready for cuddles and all the love he has to offer!

Don’t let his short legs fool you—Cocopop is a walking machine! He loves long strolls and exploring new hiking trails. His enthusiasm for adventure is matched only by his eagerness to learn. While he’s still mastering commands, his food-driven nature makes him a fast learner, especially when there are tasty treats involved!

Cocopop is working on a few new tricks, like grabbing his toys instead of playfully nipping at humans when he gets excited. He’s already showing promise with food puzzles and loves to keep his brain engaged.

At home, Cocopop is a calm companion, often napping while you go about your day. He’s great at entertaining himself but gets especially excited for games of tug-of-war and fetch when you’re free to play.

Cocopop has been around kids aged 10 and up and tends to be indifferent to them, but has shown to warm up to them after awhile and may love having a kid companion by his side on adventures! He’s also met cats and thinks they’re the perfect playmates, although they might not always agree!

He adores meeting new dog friends, although he’s still learning the ropes of playtime. With a bit of guidance, he’ll become a fantastic playmate in no time.

Cocopop would thrive in any type of home where he’s shown lots of love and given the right amount of physical and mental exercise.

Our priority is to ensure the fit is right for both you and the dog, we will reach out to your personal and veterinarian references (if applicable), and your landlord (if applicable). A virtual video or pictures of your place are required at the time of application.

More about this rescue

Formed in 2013, a small scale dog rescue located in Ontario. We are a non-profit, volunteer-run, foster home based.

None of our dogs are boarded in kennels upon arrival.

We are dedicated in rescuing dogs from the Caribbean, Mexico and North America as well as local surrenders.

We place dogs in loving, responsible and committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process.

Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes.

We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement
