Ellis is one of a small litter born to a stray mom cat in a barn. For a while, they were fed and socialized in the barn, then given to TC Paw and kept briefly in a quarantine cage, and then placed in their current foster home. At first, Ellis was skittish and afraid, but she accepted the adult foster cat in the home, and he helped her get used to living in a house after the barn and cage. While she'll play with just about anything in front of her, she does seem to favor chasing a laser beam. You can pick her up and hold her, and she'll purr, but not for long just yet. You need to proceed slowly with her so that she gets accustomed to you. Ellis's left ear is deformed from birth. It doesn't stand up, which is actually cute, and the canal is tiny. A vet checked her and reassured us that the ear does not hurt her. It may, however, collect dirt that she can't clean, so it needs monitoring for cleanliness. She hears well with the other ear, just not as well as a cat with both ears. She has no trouble speaking, especially when she wants something to eat. In a home where she has time to get comfortable, Ellis will be a lovely pet. Another cat as a companion would also be good, like her sister Ellie. Check Ellie's page too. Their foster family welcomes home visits for you to meet the girls.
