My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Milo!

Milo is a sweet and energetic boy who thrives on companionship! Although initially shy, Milo warms up quickly with some treats and a good walk. He enjoys being around his people and running around the yard. Despite being a dog who has never been outside before, he walks well and is ready for adventures with his family.

Being part husky, Milo can be vocal, especially when he wants to go out. He has played with other dogs before but can be rough at times, so he'll need to learn some manners. While he would do best as the only dog in the home, he may be able to make friends with patient and well-socialized dogs outside. Milo would do best in a home with older or dog-savvy children who understand his energy levels and play style.

If you're looking for an adventurous companion, Milo is ready to join your family! 🤎🐾

Do you think you could be Milo's person? Here are some ways to find out:

1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Wednesday noon to 3pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person; or

2.) Submit an online application at adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions, an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hours.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
